The story behind it
Publilius Syrus came to Rome as a young slave from Syria, won his freedom with his wit and became the star of the mime stage – at Julius Caesar’s games in 46 BC he outplayed every rival. His one-line maxims were collected and taught in schools for centuries. This one sums up self-control in five words. The design borrows Plato’s famous image of the soul as a charioteer steering two horses, one light and one dark.

How we check reviews
- Before publishing a buyer’s review, we check the order number against our orders. That is what the “Verified buyer” badge means.
- We publish every genuine review, positive or critical. We only remove spam, insults and personal data.
- We don’t pay for reviews and don’t reward them with discounts. If someone received a product for free as a sample, it says so on their review.
- The rating is the average of all published reviews of this product. Newest reviews are shown first.
