The story behind it
Marcus Aurelius (121–180 AD) was the most powerful man of his time – and wrote this to himself. His Meditations were private notes in Greek, partly written in army camps during his wars on the Danube, never meant for publication. Philosophers have argued for centuries about what makes a good man. The emperor’s answer fits into one line: enough talk, live it.
Details
“No longer talk at all about the kind of man that a good man ought to be, but be such.” – Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 10.16 (transl. George Long). Marcus wrote in Greek; the Latin on the design is our own rendering (“Desine disputare qualis vir bonus esse debeat. Esto.”).

How we check reviews
- Before publishing a buyer’s review, we check the order number against our orders. That is what the “Verified buyer” badge means.
- We publish every genuine review, positive or critical. We only remove spam, insults and personal data.
- We don’t pay for reviews and don’t reward them with discounts. If someone received a product for free as a sample, it says so on their review.
- The rating is the average of all published reviews of this product. Newest reviews are shown first.
