This line is often credited to Publilius Syrus, but it is not among the verses modern editors accept as his. It turns up only in prose, among the many later sayings added to collections of his maxims. The idea itself is genuinely Roman: Horace wrote that stored-up money is either master or slave to its owner (Epistles 1.10.47), and Seneca that riches serve the wise man but rule the fool.

How we check reviews
- Before publishing a buyer’s review, we check the order number against our orders. That is what the “Verified buyer” badge means.
- We publish every genuine review, positive or critical. We only remove spam, insults and personal data.
- We don’t pay for reviews and don’t reward them with discounts. If someone received a product for free as a sample, it says so on their review.
- The rating is the average of all published reviews of this product. Newest reviews are shown first.
