The story behind it
“Time flies.” In this short form the saying is not found in any ancient text. It goes back to Virgil, who wrote in his poem on farming, the Georgics: “sed fugit interea, fugit irreparabile tempus” – but meanwhile it flies, time flies, never to return. Seneca already noticed that Virgil says “it flies” whenever he speaks of time. Later generations shortened it into the proverb you know from old clocks and sundials. Here the shadow of a sundial turns into a flock of swallows flying away.

How we check reviews
- Before publishing a buyer’s review, we check the order number against our orders. That is what the “Verified buyer” badge means.
- We publish every genuine review, positive or critical. We only remove spam, insults and personal data.
- We don’t pay for reviews and don’t reward them with discounts. If someone received a product for free as a sample, it says so on their review.
- The rating is the average of all published reviews of this product. Newest reviews are shown first.
